Full Moon Ride

There are many ways to experience the Puglian sea, but pedaling along the Adriatic coast at night, guided only by the light of the full moon, is an unforgettable adventure.

The Full Moon Ride is back , the nighttime cycling event by Apulia Outdoor designed for those who want to rediscover the beauty of the Salento region in a completely new light. Low-traffic secondary roads, the scent of Mediterranean scrub, and the magic of the Melendugno coastline illuminated in silver: get ready to experience the most evocative night of the summer.

Full Moon Ride

The Full Moon Ride Program:
From Dusk to Moonrise

We've designed a special itinerary that combines a passion for two wheels, the wonder of coastal landscapes, and the joy of conviviality. Here are the highlights of our overnight journey.

  • Meet at the Apulia Outdoor Base Camp in Melendugno.

The starting point is our Base Camp in Melendugno . Here, we'll shake hands, turn on the bike lights, and have a short technical briefing before setting off. To allow everyone to enjoy the experience at their own pace, we've designed a circular tour with two route options: one 30 km and one 50 km . It's ideal for both those seeking a relaxing ride and those looking to rack up a few extra kilometers.

  • The Faraglioni of Sant'Andrea and the Sunset at Torre dell'Orso

Leaving the town of Melendugno, we'll ride along secondary rural roads, completely immersed in the tranquil countryside and surrounded by centuries-old olive trees. Our first stop on the coast will take us to Torre Sant'Andrea , where the monumental white rock stacks stand out majestically against the sea.

From there, we'll head to the stunning Torre dell'Orso bay to enjoy the sunset: the exact moment when the sun bids farewell to the day and disappears behind the horizon, painting the sky with shades of red and orange.

  • The Thrilling Spectacle of the Moon Rising from the Sea

Immediately after sunset, we'll move to the opposite side of the Torre dell'Orso bay, to a privileged panoramic position. As the darkness of night begins to creep in, we'll turn our gaze toward the sea horizon to witness the most anticipated spectacle: the full moon rising directly from the water , casting a luminous trail across the Otranto Sea. Pedaling surrounded by this glow is a pure emotion.

  • A Refreshing Break in the Woods: A Salento Aperitif at Poesis Park

After feasting our eyes on the beauty, we'll continue our nighttime ride towards Roca . Here, we'll make a special stop to rest our legs and enjoy the evening in good company: we'll be guests of Poesis Park , a charming glamping site nestled in the greenery of the forest. We'll relax in the shade of the trees with a zero-kilometer aperitif , enjoying authentic traditional Salento products accompanied by a refreshing drink.

  • The return to Melendugno passing through San Foca

Recharged, we'll get back in the saddle for the final stretch of our cycling tour. We'll ride along the beaches and the marina of San Foca , caressed by the night sea breeze, before taking the inland road that will comfortably take us back to the Melendugno Base Camp , where the tour will officially end.
